Polity Plus (written in the app as Polity+) is a digital record book for India's village, ward and taluka-level leaders, and for the citizens they serve. It replaces paper registers, scattered notebooks and memory with one structured, private record that stays organised year after year.
This article explains what Polity Plus does, who it is for, how it protects your data, what it costs, and how to start. It covers only features that exist today.
Why Polity Plus was built
Local governance in India still runs largely on paper. Family details sit in one register, complaints in a diary, and scheme applications in someone's memory. When a register is damaged or a leader's term ends, years of work can disappear. Leaders, and especially first-time and women leaders, often have no organised way to show the work they have done.
Polity Plus was built to fix that with one simple tool that works on an ordinary phone, in the leader's own language, even when the network is weak. Read more about why Panchayati Raj needs digital tools.
What Polity Plus does
- Family records, grouped automatically by household.
- My Villages: block and taluka leaders manage many villages from one workspace.
- Issue and grievance tracking from reported to in progress to resolved. See handling citizen complaints.
- My Work: a work diary, planned, pending and completed work items, and Gram Sabha records.
- Government scheme tracking for each family. See tracking schemes for every family.
- Community stakeholder directory by public role only, with no caste or religion profiling.
- Self-Help Group tracking and emergency helpline numbers.
- 13 languages: English plus Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Assamese and Urdu.
- Real village names from India's Local Government Directory: State, District, Taluka, Village.
Who Polity Plus is for
| User | What they use it for |
|---|---|
| Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch | The whole village's family records, issues, schemes, work and Gram Sabha records |
| Ward members and activists | Working alongside the Sarpanch, logging issues and ground work |
| Block and taluka leaders | Many villages from one workspace, each with its own records |
| Citizens | Reporting issues, connecting with representatives, sending scheme applications, free of charge |
Priyanka Gaikwad, a young Deputy Sarpanch, starts her morning by opening Polity Plus to see three pending issues: a streetlight, a ration card correction and a drain. She updates the streetlight to "resolved", adds a photo, and notes that the ration card file was submitted at the taluka office. Before the Gram Sabha, she opens My Work to read out what was planned and what was completed this month.
"कागद शोधत बसायची गरज नाही, सगळं एका ठिकाणी."
(In English: "No need to keep searching through papers, everything is in one place.")
Privacy and data protection
- Only your village: each leader sees only their own village's records. This is enforced on the server, not just in the app.
- Stored in India: data is stored with Google Firebase in the Mumbai region.
- Never sold: no data is sold or used for advertising.
- No profiling: no caste or religion fields in the community directory.
Read the full Privacy Policy.
Built for real village conditions
Polity Plus is built for weak internet: changes are saved on the phone and sync when the connection returns. It runs on ordinary Android phones (Android 7 or newer) and in any phone or computer browser, so iPhone and computer users can use it too.
Pricing in plain words
- Citizens: free.
- Leaders: a 14-day free trial, then ₹1,499 per year for one village.

An independent tool
Polity Plus is made by Median Polity Solutions. It is an independent, citizen-built tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any Gram Panchayat, State Government or the Election Commission of India. It helps leaders keep their own records; it does not replace any official process.
Conclusion
Polity Plus gives village and taluka leaders one private, organised place for the records that matter: families, issues, schemes, work and Gram Sabha decisions. It works in their language, on weak internet, at a price a village leader can afford. The best way to understand it is to try it: the trial is free.
